All roads lead to the Fountain University, Osogbo as the institution marks its 13th Convocation ceremony with the conferment of Bachelor and higher degrees on graduates of various academic programmes of the university.

A total of 234 graduates will receive various degree awards out of which 218 are first degree holders while 16 are postgraduate degree holders. The ceremony will hold on the University’s Founders’ Day, January 14, 2024.

Fountain Spring gathered that nine students bagged First Class Honours with Microbiology producing the highest number (three) while each of Mass Communication, Sociology, Political Science, Biochemistry and Nutrition, Computer Science and Environmental Health Sciences produced one First Class graduate.

The 16-year-old Fountain University has been consistent in producing quality graduates since 2011 when it produced its first set of graduates.

Every year, the university has a record of receiving reports of its alumni doing great in their respective chosen careers.

The 13th Convocation Academic achievement is prioritised by the university which parades quality and resourceful faculties and supporting administration that keeps the dreams of the founding fathers yielding results.

This year’s convocation is different as it will be presided over by the first female Vice Chancellor, Professor Olayinka Ramota Karim, who took the mantle of the administration about a year ago.

Professor Karim has, in the last one year, brought her academic prowess and administrative experience to the fore in running the university.

As part of her resolve to make the students research-oriented, the Vice Chancellor lined up a plan to involve students in cutting-edge research embarked upon by the lecturers, preparing them (the students) for the ever-increasing world of research.

It needs to be stated that graduates of FUO have distinguished themselves locally and internationally both in academia and industry.

It can only be better as the Fountain University’s motto of faith, Knowledge and Service and its catchphrase, Fountain leads, others follow, are getting needed attention of the University.
